We're passionate about developing our people. Our Collcge trains people in core competencies, professional development and personal development. Everyone in the business is required to 'graduate' from the Collcge by accumulating a certain amount of points. It's all tied into each person's development plan and discussed at appraisal time. So it all fits together nicely.
Employees are also able to give some of their work time to any external causes they're passionate about. For example, John is a local city councillor and Mark helps marshal race events at the local sailing club. It's all about balance, we expect a lot from our people and they expect a lot from the business. It seems to work pretty well. But we're not perfect, far from it, that's why we're constantly challenging ourselves to improve in everything we do.
