Our ethics
Climate change is real, despite what some of the crazed 'experts' would have us believe. The Dr. Dooms among us say it's too late for us to make up for the damage we've already done. It maybe too late, but that's not a get out of jail free card. We're not tree huggers, we just believe in leaving things as we find them.
We work really hard to limit our impact on the environment. Fortunately everyone in the business feels the same way, which is why our recycle bins are regularly overflowing. We work with a couple of organisations who are equally as passionate. Our friends at Dove weigh and recycle our glass, plastic and tin, whilst our friends at Olive are helping us become carbon neutral by 2010...properly carbon neutral, not some phoney green-wash offsetting scheme.
In 2008 we started the process for ISO14001 accreditation. Ultimately we will be carbon neutral by 2010 and we will expect all of our external business partners to be equally as responsible. This is our current sustainability policy, which we'll manage and improve each year. We've already seen a healthy impact with initiatives like ditching our company cars, fitting light sensors in place of switches, replacing all of our CRTs, fixing thermostats on all of our radiators and many more. All the little things add up, we just wish more people would believe that too.
As a good corporate citizen, we also like to help other people and organisations. Pro bono initiatives include anything from raising awareness of cocaine use, to rebranding the Africa Centre, we even helped Rhys Jones with his attempt to sail down the Mississippi in a recyclable paper boat! We can't lie, it makes us feel good, but more importantly we give something back and hopefully help to make a difference.
